Are Emotions Running High? Whatever your stress trigger – at the moment when you find yourself really worked-up, aggravated, infuriated or provoked by someone, as much as it would feel SO GOOD in the moment to discharge this angry energy by any means available, DON'T! We have all experienced this overpowering crazed- feeling when we are flooded in emotions. Acting on this highly-activated emotional self, often leads to no good.
I’ve been telling folks who have been having these challenging moments with their kids or their partners to:
• Catch that nano second where you can make a conscious choice to respond in a more measured way. A pause and a few slow breaths miraculously will calm your mind (slow down your heart rate). The intensity of the feeling will subside.
• Walk away in the heat of the moment. Go to another room, go outside, go to the bathroom, get a glass of water or do a small chore. Distract yourself with anything that will avoid you blowing your gasket and losing control.

Have a wonderful summer. Coach Minda
