Mira Swearer is the Senior Program Manager for Learning and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). She joined ARL in 2017 and plays a key role in supporting initiatives related to learning and DEI, including the implementation and administration of ARL’s Kaleidoscope Program. This program focuses on fostering diversity within research libraries and archives.14

Mira also contributes to organizing significant DEI-related events, such as the inaugural ARL Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Institute scheduled for March 2025. This institute aims to equip participants with tools and strategies to drive positive change within their communities and institutions.23 Before her current role, Mira gained experience through internships in related fields.1
