Misiek Piskorski

Misiek Piskorski, also known as Mikołaj Jan Piskorski, is the Dean of Asia and Oceania at IMD Business School.1 He is a Professor of Digital Strategy, Analytics, and Innovation at IMD, based in Lausanne, Switzerland.1 Piskorski has held this position since October 2022 and is responsible for IMD Business School activities in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.1
Prior to his current role, Piskorski served as the Dean of IMD South East Asia and Oceania from January 2020 to October 2022.1 He has been with IMD since July 2014, initially joining as a Professor of Strategy and Innovation.1
Piskorski has an extensive academic background, including:
- A BA/MA in Economics and Politics from the University of Cambridge (1992-1995)1
- An AM in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University (1995-2001)1
Before joining IMD, Piskorski held various positions at Harvard Business School, including Associate Professor of Business Administration and Assistant Professor of Business Administration.1 He also spent three years as an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford University from 2001 to 2004.1
Piskorski is known for his expertise in digital strategy, platform strategy, and digital business transformation.23 He has authored a book titled "A Social Strategy: How We Profit from Social Media," which won the Axiom Business Book Awards gold medal in 2015.3 His research has been published in prestigious journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, American Journal of Sociology, and Management Science.23
