Seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in Educational Policy & Leadership, AY 2024-25
The Department of Educational Policy & Leadership - University at Albany - SUNY at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor with a specialization in one or more of the following areas: educational finance and/or economics, higher education, and/or comparative or international education. EPL particularly seeks diverse candidates with a strong teaching and research record in content applicable to administration and leadership in K-12 and/or higher education, issues in domestic and/or global education policy, and/or policies and practices in cradle-to-career educational systems.
The successful applicant will engage with colleagues whose interests and work span pre-K to post-graduate education, domestic and international to prepare students to be innovative scholar-leaders in local, national, and global problems in education across the lifespan. We are looking for applicants who bring unique perspectives to the study of educational organizations and leadership, including those who draw from experience and interests in diverse groups and/or diverse educational settings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching graduate courses including departmental core courses and courses in their area of specialization (2 graduate courses per semester); conducting research related to their area(s) of expertise; advising graduate students (including serving on dissertation committees as appropriate); contributing to recruitment activities and developing strong connections with educational organizations and policy institutes; and serving on department, school, and university committees.
The position is authorized for the 2024-25 academic year. If funding is available, the position may be extended for a second year.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctoral degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization completed by September 2024; a strong teaching and research record in content applicable to their area(s) of expertise in educational policy and leadership; ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications: An active research program related to administration and leadership in K-12 and/or higher education, issues in domestic and/or global education policy, and/or policies and practices in cradle-to-career educational systems.
