Mohammad Karim is a distinguished academic and researcher who has held leadership positions in various prominent public and private research universities.

His expertise lies in the development of academic and research programs, enhancing student success and mobility, fostering faculty and infrastructure growth, promoting diversity, and advocating for shared governance.

With an impressive publication record, Mohammad Karim has authored 19 books, 9 chapters, over 360 scientific articles, and served as a guest editor for 36 journal special issues.

His educational journey includes obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science (MS) in Physics from The University of Alabama.

Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics from the University of Dacca in Bangladesh and studied SSC in Science at Faujdarhat Cadet College.

In terms of professional experience, Mohammad Karim has served as a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and held the prestigious positions of Provost, Executive Vice Chancellor & COO at the same institution.

Previously, he has also worked as the Vice President for Research at Old Dominion University, Dean of Engineering at The City College of New York, Head of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Tennessee, and Chair of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Dayton.

His career highlights include being the Founding Director of the Electro-Optics Program at the University of Dayton and a Summer Faculty Fellow at the Avionics Directorate at the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Mohammad Karim has also served as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor at the University of Dayton, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Wichita State University, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering & Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
