I'm excited to have joined the product team at HealthSherpa earlier in March! A good mission always speaks to me and I'm passionate about HealthSherpa's of providing high quality and affordable health insurance across the U.S. Most of all, I'm honored to work with a great team to deliver on it.
I appreciate those who helped in the search process. Job hunting, particularly in this market in tech, is a challenging and emotional one. I'm lucky and grateful to have a supportive community to ride along throughout it.
Well, it happened. I’m now part of the tech layoff community. It’s humbling to start your own enterprise, change paths, and then be impacted in this way. But I know I'm not alone. And as I reflect, one thing is clear to me- I loved the work that I did at connectRN and being in product.
So with that, I’ll be continuing to stay in the field and excited to take on something new.
Some gratitude is due: Luis Gutierrez- how lucky am I to have had such a fantastic design and UX partner. I appreciated how our work was a true collaboration. You oriented me to the space, challenged me when I needed it, and produced beautiful (and impactful) work along the way. You have set the bar HIGH.
Margery Fiori- I couldn’t have asked for a better manager to work for after running my own organization. Truly. You empowered our whole team through questions and facilitation. If I was off, you helped steer me back. Your care for the team resonated across the board and I feel that personally to this day.
If we partnered together at connectRN, thank you (some other s/os: Dan Lavoie, Leah Feinberg, Jared Grebner). But there’s a longer list of other talented collaborators! I’ll miss it, but I'm excited to watch everyone from the sidelines and hope to work again in the future.
Job seeking is a ride for sure (and feels a whole lot like fundraising!). But just like I have gratitude for many of those while I was at cRN, I am in debt to several already for being there the last two weeks. There are many, and you know who you are! But I want to call out Trevor Biller and Kyle Edquist in particular who have gone above and beyond.
