Monica Silva Gutiérrez is a Chief of Staff at Google where she spearheads strategy and operations for a global engineer and technical infrastructure team. With five years of experience at Google, Monica has excelled as a Cultural Ambassador and a key figure in Change Management, collaborating with various teams globally including the Product Area, Developer Relations, and other engineering teams.

Monica's notable achievements include leading the launch of Google's innovation lab, Area 120, in partnership with Bradley Horowitz, VP of Products. She is an advocate for women and Latinx representation at Google, heading the 24X7 Women in Tech initiative and co-founding the Latinas@ Google summit, engaging over 600 Latinas in a conference that featured prominent personalities like Jacky Cruz and Dolores Huerta.

Prior to her tenure at Google, Monica's career predominantly revolved around politics and non-profit management, holding positions in Washington, DC during the first Clinton administration. She served at the US Dept. of Energy as a political appointee, contributing to the administration's agenda. With over 20 years as a nonprofit executive, Monica has championed causes ranging from environmental and social justice issues to girls' education in India and Africa, mindfulness in schools, and advocating for vulnerable communities' human dignity.

Hailing from McAllen, Texas, Monica's upbringing in a border town has shaped her perspective on bridge-building, reflected in her leadership style. She's a first-generation college graduate from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX. Monica's commitment to uplifting others and driving positive change resonates through her work, inspiring people across generations to make a difference.

Currently residing in Mountain View, CA with her family, Monica temporarily returned to her hometown in McAllen, Texas during the pandemic to be closer to her roots. She continues to be a beacon of leadership and advocacy in her professional and personal life.
