Monica Tan is an accomplished writer currently working on her first book. Previously, she served as the deputy culture editor at Guardian Australia, focusing on a wide range of topics such as culture, identity, nationalism, colonialism, race, feminism, and Indigenous Australia.

She holds a degree in Chinese Language and Communications, having studied at Beijing Foreign Studies University and the University of Technology Sydney, respectively.

Monica has a diverse professional background, having worked in various roles at organizations such as Beyond Zero Emissions, Environment Centre NT as Repower NT Manager, The NSW Greens as a Communications Officer, and Western Sydney University as an Arts Teacher.

Her experience also includes roles as an author, senior writer, web editor at Greenpeace, English Second Language Tutor, freelance writer, reporter across various titles, web producer at Nine, and web project manager at Healthpac Media and Communications.
