Morgan Hitzig is an investor and operator at Venrock, where she focuses on technology companies that engage significantly with the public sector, particularly in areas related to national security, public safety, and critical infrastructure. Hitzig holds a B.A. in International Studies and an M.A. in Strategic Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University. She is also an Officer in the United States Navy Reserve, having completed overseas tours in the Middle East and Asia. Beyond her professional roles, she serves on the Board of Councilors at the Atlantic Council, a think tank focused on international affairs.12

I’m delighted to share the news that I’ve joined Venrock as a venture investor. From my time at NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau and with the United States Navy, to Dataminr and then Peregrine (more on that in a moment), I’ve had the privilege of working with organizations at the intersection between technology, national security, and public safety. I’m honored to continue that journey.
