Dr. Msw Richa Dhanju is an Anthropologist and Social Worker with a diverse background in diversity and inclusion advancement, training development, policy outreach, grant management, university teaching, public health research, and community organizing.

With over 15 years of experience in countries like India, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and the US, Dr. Dhanju is dedicated to promoting equitable opportunities for underserved communities.

Having completed a PhD, she served as a tenure track professor and public health researcher, specializing in interdisciplinary feminist perspectives and achieving high student evaluations. Her scholarly work has been published in esteemed anthropology and human geography journals.

During her tenure at the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women, Dr. Dhanju spearheaded initiatives like the SF Family Friendly Workplace ordinance outreach and managed a federal grant focusing on combating domestic violence in coordination with various agencies and community organizations.

Currently, Dr. Dhanju manages diversity and inclusion projects at the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SF DPH), involving research on best practices, producing regular assessment reports, offering resources, developing workforce assessment tools, and conducting workshops like Cultural Humility and Racial Humility trainings.

In terms of education, Dr. Dhanju holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Anthropology from Texas A&M University, a Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Arts from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts from Lady Shri Ram College for Women.

She has held various roles in prestigious organizations like the San Francisco Department of Public Health, A Minnesota Without Poverty, St. Catherine University, University of Minnesota, and more. Dr. Dhanju also enjoys running and reading, with Land's End in San Francisco being her favorite spot.
