Msw Vanessa Cecena is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in social work spanning various organizations and roles.

She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus on Community Organizing, Planning, and Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Development Studies with a Regional Focus on Latin America from UCLA.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has served in key positions such as Department Director of Immigrant Services at Catholic Charities, Social Worker at the American Bar Association's Immigration Justice Project, and Intake Coordinator at ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties.

Her extensive experience also includes roles as Communications Coordinator and Case Manager in Immigrant Services at Catholic Charities, Diocese of San Diego, as well as positions at the Southwest Key Program, Community Research Foundation, and the County of San Diego's Child Welfare Services.

Vanessa has volunteered her skills in various capacities, including as a MSW Volunteer at the International Liaison Office of the County of San Diego, as a Social Work Intern at the Unitarian Universalist Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education (UURISE), and as Chair of the San Diego Academic Center at USC's International Social Work Caucus.

She has also worked as a School Social Work Intern at Olympic View Elementary School, an English Language Instructor at the Sogang Language Program, and as a Youth Care Worker for Unaccompanied Minors at the Southwest Key Program.
