Highlights
I’m incredibly proud to say that I am starting a new position as Sr. Program Manager, Disability Inclusion Program at Workday!
I'll be building a brand new program in partnership with the incredible Stacey Romero, leveraging my experience working on inclusive products and environments from my time across Salesforce, Zoom, and Checkr. I am so grateful for all of the leaders, partners, and customers who have taught me what great disability inclusion looks like and how to implement it at scale. Those lessons, along with my own experience as a person with an invisible disability, will be the foundation of my approach to this critical work. I'm also awaiting my test results for the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) exam. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
I want to thank my interviewers, Tierre Daniels, Jessica Knight Mendiola, Mary Roemmele, Paloma Nikolic Sepeda, Kassandra Sparks-Johnson, SHRM-CP, Kumari L. Williams, and my recruiter Susie Back. You all made me feel like I could belong on this team and at Workday, and I thank you for entrusting me with this work.
If you're a Workmate, hi! I would love to meet you and hope to incorporate your experience into our program. Reach out to me on Slack or set up time with me on my calendar!
More to come, but for now, I couldn't be more proud to be at Workday.
Another day, another cert! I've just completed SHRM's Employing Abilities at Work Certification, a comprehensive overview of best practices for identifying, attracting, employing, and retaining employees with disabilities.
This course, which is FREE to all thanks to the Kessler Foundation, is essential learning for everyone - not just DEI practitioners and HR leaders. Many of the behaviors, processes, and policies encouraged in this training are best practice for building an inclusive workplace for all.
If you want to be a better ally to your disabled colleagues, understand how to best work with and support them, and begin to understand the principles of universal design, I can't recommend this course enough. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gZXMgG2x
