👀 Heard of BYOAI? It’s like BYOD, but with AI, employees bring their own AI tools into the workplace.

This can be risky. Without proper oversight, BYOAI often results in what I call AI Slop—unpolished content that misses the mark. Worse, it can lead to unintentional exposure of sensitive company data.

While BYOAI offers flexibility, it’s crucial to use these tools responsibly. Employers must set clear guidelines to protect both content quality and data privacy.

Want to integrate AI into your team's workflow securely? Let’s connect. I offer corporate training, including policy development, to help communication teams use AI tools safely and effectively.

🫡 Do you treat your AI assistant with respect?

I do.

After all, it works quickly and diligently for me, courteously accepts feedback, and is always up for a new challenge. And I'm afraid of what might happen one day if I pull a "Devil Wears Prada" act on my devoted GenAI worker.

Respecting AI tools through our prompts doubles as good practice for how we should treat each other. A recent opinion piece by Dr. Mat Savelli for The Globe and Mail describes how impatient attitudes towards "limitless" AI assistants can translate to harming our real people relationships and further drive today's loneliness epidemic.

So, as communicators, let's lead by example online and offline.
