Highlights
As an entrepreneur and founder I’ve been in the fire many times and faced lots of battles. However, the stakes were not life and death. With my family’s health challenges this past year the stakes are so much higher. Life and death. I’m posting this here to help anybody dealing with tough times. You are not alone.
Choices. What do you choose?
Gratitude is a choice Courage is a choice Positivity is a choice Happiness is a choice
I am by nature optimistic. But I’m human and I’m still prone to the spectrum of emotions and I have experienced all of them. However, I choose to focus on thoughts of gratitude and positivity through all the turmoil and health challenges with my brother, my sister, mother and father. I’ve seen many families, torn apart going through one of these crises (countless ER visits, countless emergency surgeries, multiple terminal cancer diagnosises, funerals and on and on) Our family got closer, but ultimately that was a choice that we all made to focus on what was truly important and to let the non-important things fade away.
Another blessing, as I choose to see it, is our family spent nearly every day together for the last nine months. Without crisis and without tragedy, this would not have happened. So I am grateful for that.
Abraham Lincoln mentioned this in his inaugural address: “to appeal to the better angels of our nature“. Again, I would say this is our choice.
“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”
