No words can help Pierre’s family, girlfriend, his 1440 team, and other loved ones he’s impacted profoundly during his life.
Pierre was the most influential person for Ian Barto, me, and countless others in the newsletter industry. He never thought twice about giving thoughtful advice, and I was always taken aback by his unique combination of intelligence, kindness, humbleness, and leadership abilities.
One thing stood out most to me - his passion for sports and community.
We’re both huge soccer (or football as he would call it) fans. Last year we were chatting about the upcoming World Cup and he’s a huge England supporter. He traveled back to England to watch their World Cup run amongst passionate football fans, to immerse himself into the sports community and culture. He specifically wanted to do that to connect with others on a similar wavelength of passionate fandom. I’ll never forget how excited he was telling me about his World Cup plan. I’ll always remember our conversations about sports, traveling, and outdoor excursions we both wanted to experience in our lifetimes.
