Yesterday I had the pleasure to discuss together with Marion Mirold from Siemens Energy , Dirk Elias, from Bosch and, Rob Roy from T-Mobile hosted by Tim Otto of STL Partners about the topic of #NetworkAPIs.
It was a vivid talk with lots of insights about why the market ist graving for network APIs, the need of collaboration and the huge benefit for business cases. There are three key take aways from my point of view:
-
Collaboration is key, to utilize the full potential of Network APIs. With the CAMARA Project, which Deutsche Telekom is one of the founding members, we pushed the right step, to bring standardization into a before diverse topic and by that ensure not only collaboration within our industry but cross-industry and Cross-country.
-
There is a huge demand for network APIs, and the benefits they provide in the market, but we have to make sure, that it‘s easy for customers to get them. Therefore we created together with T-Mobile our one-stop-shop portal for APIs T-Mobile DevEdge, where Developers and Customers will be able to buy these APIs as easily as you order food in the evening.
-
Network APIs can not only enable new business cases but have the potential to improve existing ones. Therefore, it‘s important that we take a close look around us and check the potential improvements, that are right in front of us. With a mindset of #continuessimprovement we can leverage the full potential of Network APIs
