Happy 4th of July everyone!!

This long weekend is the perfect time to see how well your alerting and monitoring program has gone.

Do you worry about alerts you might not see?

Or do you sit relaxed on the beach or at the BBQ knowing your alerting will catch anything that needs immediate attention?

May your alerts stay green ✅ and your fireworks stay red 🎇

Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend!

There has been a lot of hype around AI and ChatGPT.

But, will penetration testing ever become fully automated?

Sadly... no. It won't.

Here are just a few quick things that AI has NEVER been good at:

🔸 Testing application business logic 🔸 Understanding work flows well enough to circumvent them 🔸 Understanding the impact of certain functions 🔸 Understanding when sensitive data is found 🔸 Understanding when administrative functionality is found 🔸 Testing authorization and access controls 🔸 Understanding the balance between business needs and security requirements 🔸 Being flexible in testing based on new data or results 🔸 Weeding out false positives 🔸 Presenting the results to multiple stakeholders

AI and automation is a great tool to make already good penetration testers become even greater.

But, it will never replace a manual tester entirely.

Plan your 2024 security accordingly.

Change my mind?
