Nathaniel Stevens

Assistant Professor at University of Waterloo

Nathaniel Stevens is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of Waterloo with a strong background in academia and industrial collaborations.

He previously held a similar position at the University of San Francisco and directed their BS in Data Science program.

Nathaniel's expertise revolves around using data for decision-making, problem-solving, and process improvement, particularly focusing on data science and industrial statistics.

His research interests include experimental design, A/B testing, process monitoring, measurement systems assessment, reliability analysis, and variation reduction.

Nathaniel has mentored undergraduate research and graduate data science interns in various areas such as exploratory data analysis, time series analysis, machine learning, A/B testing, and data visualization.

He holds a PhD and Master's degree in Statistics along with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, all from the University of Waterloo.

In addition to his academic roles, Nathaniel has worked as a research assistant and consultant with the Business and Industrial Statistics Research Group (BISRG) on collaborative projects with industrial and healthcare organizations.

He has also served as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Waterloo.
