Neda Shadbakht

International development graduate

Neda Shadbakht is an accomplished professional with a Masters Degree in International Development from the University of Birmingham. She currently works at Aga Khan Foundation Canada in Vancouver.

Prior to her current role, Neda has held various positions in the field of international development, including working with a women's NGO in Uganda, volunteering with the Inter-Council Network of Canada, and providing administrative support at Hope International Development Agency in Greater Vancouver.

Her volunteer experience includes coordinating grassroots initiatives focusing on community development and capacity building for children and youth.

Before transitioning to international development, Neda spent over 5 years as an English teacher abroad, teaching adult learners, editing official documents, and providing business English consulting in China and Brazil.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Simon Fraser University, further complementing her academic background.

Neda has also held roles at organizations like The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of British Columbia, Release Peace, and The Shanti Uganda Society, showcasing her diverse professional experiences.

Her extensive teaching experience includes positions at Gist Language School, China Hualu Engineering Company, Plan International, ACTIVE Network, Web International English, and ELS Educational Services, Inc.

Neda's multifaceted career trajectory reflects her strong commitment to education, community development, and international cooperation, making her a valuable asset in the field of international development.
