Highlights
The endemic is here. As we are gearing up to go back to normalcy, offices welcoming back employees, no mask mandates, big gatherings, parties etc here’s something we shouldn’t do. No, I’m not asking you to lock yourself up at home again because things can go south any day. I’m merely requesting you to not pretend that pandemic never happened. It did happen and it did affect our lives in ways bigger than we fathom. Yes, humans are resilient and we found ways to deal with it but those ways aren’t really what humans are wired for. Parents meant the world to their kids for 2 long years, kids now don’t (want to) know the world outside. Young kids are still in the risk zone and every sneeze is as scary today as it was when pandemic started, and more so now because it comes with stricter rules in schools and having to care for the kids while being present at work. We have forgotten and still find it hard to rely on friends and family for support, like we used to pre pandemic. Many have lost their loved ones and are still coping with the loss. Many have lost their source of income and are still figuring out the path forward. So while we are all happy and excited for the times ahead, let’s be cognizant and give ourselves space and time to heal. Let’s take it slow. Let’s not rush. There’s a lot to undo before we take that plunge. There’s a lot to suddenly reset one fine day.
