WannaCry - Deja Vu (noun)
Defined as a feeling of having already experienced the present situation.
So, without getting too specific, we've been unable to patch our systems in a timely manner and stop people from receiving and clicking on files or urls in an email since approximately 1997 (to make it a nice round number)
I would suggest that we need to change the incentive plans of all business professionals working on anything digital.
I believe we've exhausted the "do the right thing" or "do your job" avenues and now need to seriously consider sweeping compensation change that includes up to 50% of your annual salary at risk for not performing patching or clicking on urls or files delivered through email.
Pay for performance isn't a new concept. I'd take a salary of 100% at risk money to helm an organizations security program. You're either capable or not and MS17-010 proves that a fair percentage of us just simply aren't capable of performing the basic functions we're accountable too.
