Some Morgo Day 2 insights…

#MORGO24

The valuable thing has been the honesty of the conversations. It is inspiring to hear others journeys and be able to relayed them to your own.

The level of expertise in New Zealand in the Founder and entrepreneurial space is significant and I think it needs to be celebrated more.

Sam Kidd from LawVu Even in the enterprise, people buy from people… Growth slows the organisation down, be prepared for that! This is across values, roles & titles, peoples positioning, and of course systems… Tough times build better teams… You can’t see the curve when you’re on the curve…

Max Ferguson from Lumin PDF Max talked about being data-driven as a business using metrics to drive team outcomes and understand product usage. They generate thousands of dashboards to learn from AB testing. Autonomous product teams are managed by a Product Manager developing new capabilities based on goals aligned across teams.

My overall summary is that being a Founder means that:

  1. It takes longer than you think it will
  2. It costs more than you’d like it to
  3. There remains an amount of luck if you will make it…or not

Despite that, there are things you can do to swing the needle in your favour - preparation through the life journey is key.

There are also significant resources available to help you - many of them in the Morgo community!
