Neil Horning is a seasoned data professional with a diverse background in data initiatives, predictive modeling, machine learning, and data visualization. He is skilled in Python (Sklearn, Pandas, Matplotlib), SQL, GIS programs, and various other tools.

As the creator of the Nepal Monitor Project and the coordination lead for the Quakemap crisis map, Neil has a strong track record in managing and coordinating projects, particularly in crisis situations like the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.

With over a decade of experience in Nepal, Neil's work has included interviewing Maoist combatants, supporting human rights defenders, and contributing to innovation labs. He is also known for his resilience, having faced tropical diseases and developed a passion for running.

Neil Horning is a recovering expat whose interests span across politics, space, science, free and open-source software, disruptive technologies, and advocating for social justice.

His educational background includes a Data Science intensive course from Springboard and a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from San Francisco State University.

Neil has held various roles in reputable organizations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Peace Brigades International, Nepal Innovation Lab, HandsUp.help, UNHCR, and Kathmandu Living Labs, showcasing his diverse skill set and adaptability.
