Highlights
On a visit to Lagos, I stopped in at The 100k club health charity station. Here, dental evaluations were ongoing by Dr. Toyin of @ celebritydentist.ng. She said her goal was to screen 100,000 people for free, and she had reached her goal. The dental program is popular and well received, as evidenced by the people who were waiting for services.
I met and spoke to Tosin, a pharmacist and the coordinator of the health charity event which was founded by Dr. Chinoso Egemba popularly known as Aproko doctor, a top health influencer in Nigeria. He established The 100k club in Nigeria to tackle health poverty and provide Medical Support for Nigerians.
The major challenge for many health missions is funding. Like every good thing, funds drive sustainability. Call to action: How you can help, scan the QR code for The 100k club to contribute to the health drives.

This article discusses how digital tools can change the global narrative of heart failure.
Did you know that heart failure has a 50% mortality at 5 years. This is worse than some cancers.
There are many precursors to heart failure, but an important one is uncontrolled hypertension.
Many people do not understand how uncontrolled hypertension leads to heart failure. This can simply be explained by using analogies like an overloaded system that fails. Likening this to an overworked computer that stalls, often can produce some understanding. Likening the problem to a plumbing overload, also creates a visual that leads to understanding the concept of pump failure.
Anyway, education is essential. So is early diagnosis. And adopting the newer treatment regimens.
