Hey - MIT people, let me translate this job description for you:

Why Link: After a decade of success investing in big data, mobile, and consumer companies, Link is focused narrowing on the future of exponential technologies (AI, Space, Crypto, Longevity, etc). The office is right in Kendall Square.

What are you going to do: You’re gonna make sure every budding entrepreneur at MIT (undergrad, grad, and sloanie) knows you, and you’re going to do your best to help them. You’ll host events with sports teams and clubs. You’ll go eat dinner at the sororities and fraternities. You'll do a bajillion coffee chats and zoom calls. You’ll become the go-to person for anyone on campus who is thinking about starting a company or has recently started one but has no idea how to do it. You’re going to help a ton of people. Then some of those people might come back and want to talk about funding, and you'll have the conversation too. Secondarily, you’ll use all the tools from the typical VC playbook to source deals.

What you need to be good at: Know MIT through and through. Be comfortable community building and forging your own path. Be an incredible judge of character and aptitude. Secondarily, you'll do all the other typical VC stuff like modeling and diligence.

Why am I posting about this: It feels like the Cambridge ecosystem doesn’t punch at its weight class, so I’m always supporting MIT entrepreneurship, which includes the VC ecosystem. Also - I know that for the right person, their willing to give a shot on someone's first foray into VC in this role.

If you want a personal intro (or just want to ask me if I think you’d fit the profile), message me!

Two months ago, Derek Caneja and I started a company that today we're ready to talk about. It's called Prim AI, and our first product, Prim Stories, is going into alpha testing this week. I'm happy to share more below:

Prim AI is simply striving to create the best storytelling experience. We do this with a highly personalized audio production and with interactive stories and characters. Our product annotates a story in extreme detail, so that for every line of dialogue, we understand 1) Which character is the speaker? 2) What is the emotion they are conveying? 3) Who is the line directed to? 4) What's their relationship?

We believe over the coming years, we all will transition from listening to single-voice narration (voice actors are amazingly talented individuals, and I owe them hundreds of hours of entertainment!) to full-cast, personalized and interactive storytelling. It’s a powerful concept with many potential avenues. Our first foray into this potential is a children's product called Prim Stories.

Prim Stories is a children’s synchronized audio e-reader that allows families and loved ones to voice the narration and character dialogue in stories after providing a one-time, 60-second audio sample. It’s designed to bridge the gap between families, no matter the distance, time zones, or even languages—while sparking a lifelong love of reading in children.

Here's how it works:

1️⃣ A loving adult creates an account for a young reader and invites others to record a quick 60-second voice sample.  2️⃣ Choose a story from our expansive 1000+ story library, use our Story Generator, or craft your own!  3️⃣ We turn it into a full-cast audiobook, where voices of family members bring the characters to life, paired with an engaging read-along app.

Some heartwarming examples from our Alpha testing so far:

📚 A little girl growing up in a bilingual home (English/Mandarin) can now hear Chinese stories read by family members who don’t speak Mandarin—making language learning a family affair. 🚃 A young girl goes on an MBTA adventure with her dad narrated by Dad himself!

These are just the beginning of many stories that Prim Stories will create. If you want to be part of our journey and receive an alpha invitation, sign up on our waitlist at www.primstories.com.

This attached video shows a sneak peak into into the product. Our voices are generated, not recorded.
