Highlights
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to work with the team at Skyview Ventures to evaluate early-stage companies developing technology to support and accelerate the energy transition. During the internship, I got to dive deeper into emerging themes in renewable energy investment, and one of those focus areas was 24/7 carbon-free energy.
The research covers the growing focus on the reduction of scope 2 emissions, the importance of granular data in making informed sourcing decisions, from energy storage to long-term contracts, opportunities and challenges for small and medium-sized businesses to source carbon-free energy, and potential areas of investment along the value chain of procurement.
The economic and policy landscape is rapidly evolving, along with tech solutions to enable energy production and consumption that is less carbon-intensive. I'm grateful to have had the chance to explore such an interesting space and thanks again to the Skyview team.

Proud to have worked on this initiative for the New York City Economic Development Corporation to find a partner to support the Proptech sector in New York and address challenges faced by assets owned and managed by local public entities.
We released a Request for Proposal in partnership with NYC Citywide Administrative Services and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to select a third-party operator to source, diligence, and provide recommendations for Proptech solutions aligned with City priorities, such as (but not limited to) sustainability and building health. The intent of the program is to bridge the digital divide and catalyze innovation by addressing sector barriers to growth through piloting opportunities across a portfolio ranging from industrial space to multifamily.
For those interested - The EDC will be holding an information session on January 7th (email [email protected] to register) and RFP responses are due February 5th #proptech
