Back in 2012, Daniel Lewis and I started Ravel Law (acquired by LexisNexis) with a vision of creating data and analytics from caselaw, to help lawyers and law students better understand and access the law.

But to achieve the end, we needed the data… Tomorrow we celebrate with our partners at Harvard Law School, Adam Ziegler, Professor Jonathan Zittrain (and so many more), the fruition of a decade of work to create the first open access collection of US Caselaw (https://case.law/).

As we said in our first Ravel pitch, “the law is our operating system, and it’s in need of a major upgrade.” We hope that this important collection continues to inspire innovation, and better access to justice.
