Highlights
What a great morning. When time is so precious and limited it's easy to forget the value and importance of investing it for yourself. So it felt like huge ROI today after breakfast catching up with the Birmingham Experience Design fam, then attending 2 great sessions at Birmingham Design Festival from Jaskiran Kang and Brendan Kearns. Each talk was a useful opportunity for learning through reflection on my own practice and behaviours. The strong thread that stood out for me through both was the importance (and approach) of creating psychological safety in the design process for teams and individuals to be creative, and ultimately deliver the best outcomes.
Wish I could have spent longer and made it along to more sessions, but grateful for the time I did have to be so well spent.
The fact that this post feels both necessary and uncomfortable, both overdue and premature.... is a good indicator that there may never be a good time, and sometimes you just need to get things out.
Finding my own way to peace and joy after a tough year. Thanks to those who have shared their own stories and expressions of loss and gratitude that helped me to write this.
