Highlights
2020 showed us the power of forever-organizing in Georgia and Wisconsin, and it's a norm I hope the Democratic party invests in on a national scale. I wrote about how Senator Chris Murphy invested in forever-organizing back in 2017, and some lessons I learned along the way.
I'd love if you could take a second to read this over - especially if you care about the future of electoral organizing spaces. The DNC has so many tools in their arsenal to improve our party's infrastructure, and I believe that real forever-organizing should be utilized.
I've been batting around a version of this piece since December 2016, and feel like the lessons of 2017 are so pertinent for where our party finds itself in 2021. If we're the ones we've been waiting for, then we can't wait for 2022 to organize for Democrats!
Excited to speak at #Rootscamp tomorrow about careers in organizing!
Rootscamp brings together a coalition of leaders in the Democratic and progressive political, electoral, advocacy and governing space to debrief on what we all just experienced with an eye to moving forward together and plotting what comes next. There will be workshops, trainings, panel discussions, consulting and networking opportunities, visionary speakers, an organizational expo, and a provocative debate around strategy and practices.
Rootscamp is an unconference, meaning attendees contribute to the agenda, design the sessions and are active participants. During this online event participants share ideas, strategy, and what it means to practice inclusive politics with leaders from across the country.
