CTO (Fractional) Metabolic Psychiatry Labs
I’m a senior technology leader with more than 25 years at the intersection of healthcare, data, and product innovation. My path started on the clinical floor as a paramedic and ER technician. That early experience still guides everything I build. It taught me how care actually unfolds, where friction shows up, and how technology should support clinicians rather than add to their load.
My focus has stayed the same ever since: shift healthcare from reactive sick-care to a model that predicts, prevents, and supports whole-person well-being—mind, body, and soul. For the past decade, I’ve led AI and data-driven initiatives aimed at that exact transition. We’re reaching a moment where technology can finally make personalized, proactive care possible at scale, and I’m committed to building that future alongside teams who share the mission.
My work spans frontline care, digital transformation, and AI-enabled product development. At Kaiser Permanente, I helped pioneer clinical AI and virtual care programs used by millions of patients. Heartwise, a virtual cardiac rehab program I co-led, doubled program completion and cut readmissions by more than 85 percent.
As CTO at Primasun—a ResMed/Verily joint venture—I built a cloud-native, HIPAA-compliant sleep wellness platform from the ground up, strengthened clinical outcomes and commercial readiness, and helped drive a 20 percent increase in valuation ahead of acquisition.
Today, I serve as fractional CTO for Metabolic Psychiatry Labs, a mission-driven startup building personalized metabolic treatments for serious mental illness. My role is to architect the technical foundation from day one: a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, a patient-first identity model, a scalable AI/LLM workflow layer, and a clinical product that integrates seamlessly into provider workflows. I lead product and engineering strategy, evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, design the data infrastructure, and guide the 0→1 execution required to reach product-market fit—hands-on and in close partnership with clinical and operational leadership.
Across these roles, I’ve led teams of 70-plus engineers and designers, stewarded more than $500M in strategic technology investments, and built partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, health systems, and academic institutions. I’m known for translating complex, high-stakes problems into grounded, executable strategies and for building teams that thrive under ambiguity.
I’m a named co-inventor on a patent for evaluating and predicting sleep-related disorders (WO2024206079A2), and my work has contributed to research published in Nature Digital Medicine, NEJM Catalyst, and JMIR, helping advance the science behind scalable, AI-enabled care delivery.
We’re at an inflection point in health. Technology can finally act in service of human flourishing rather than system constraints. That’s the world I’m working toward—one thoughtful, evidence-driven system at a time.
