Nicole Chaland is a professional with 20 years of experience in community economic development, currently advocating and organizing for affordable housing in Victoria, BC. Her approach is influenced by research, community organizing, feminism, whole-systems thinking, and social/community entrepreneurship.

She pursued education in Co-operative Economies from the University of Bologna, BC Co-operative Association, and Vancity Credit Union, a Certificate in Community Economic Development from Simon Fraser University, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Victoria.

Nicole has been involved in various organizations including being a Co-founder & Co-owner at The Dock: Co-working & Centre for Social Impact, serving as the Director at SFU Certificate Program for Community Economic Development, as a Program Manager at the Canadian Community Economic Development Network, and as a Researcher at the Centre for Co-operative and Community-Based Economy.
