Dr. Nicole K. Paulk, PhD, is a dedicated professional in the field of translational AAV gene therapy. Her lab stands out for being species, disease, organ, tissue, cell type, pathway, and gene agnostic, focusing on revolutionizing AAV gene therapies for Rare Diseases and Cancer.

Dr. Paulk is committed to advancing the field by developing novel approaches to make gene therapies more accessible, cost-effective, and efficient. She is passionate about bringing transformative therapies to patients and spearheading the use of enabling technologies in her research.

Aside from her groundbreaking work, Dr. Paulk actively advocates for Open Access science, Women In STEM, and Diversity In STEAM, promoting inclusivity and diversity in the scientific community.

She currently holds a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and has a strong academic background with a Ph.D. from Oregon Health and Science University, a Postdoctoral Fellowship from Stanford University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Washington University.

Dr. Paulk has also contributed her expertise as a Scientific Advisory Board Member to prestigious organizations such as CEVEC Pharmaceuticals GmbH, Dyno Therapeutics, Excision BioTherapeutics, WhiteLab Genomics, and Sarepta Therapeutics, showcasing her leadership and influence in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
