Nicole Moore

Nicole Moore is a Professor in English and Media Studies at UNSW Canberra.12 From 2018-2022, she served as the Associate Dean for UNSW Canberra's Special Collections, where she fostered research, curation, and partnerships utilizing world-class manuscript materials and rare books.12

Moore's main research interests include:

Her 2012 book "The Censor's Library: Uncovering the Lost History of Australia's Banned Books" won the Walter McCrae Russell award and was shortlisted for several other prestigious awards.12

Currently, Moore is working on completing a biography of the prominent Australian writer Dorothy Hewett for Melbourne University Press. She is also involved in an ARC Discovery Project exploring the history of the mid-century publisher, the Australasian Book Society.12

Moore holds editorial positions for several academic journals and book series, including the Studies in Australian Literature and Culture book series at Anthem Press.12 She has held visiting fellowships at various institutions, including the Menzies Centre at Kings College London and the Faculty of English at the University of Cambridge.12

From September 2022 to July 2023, Moore served as the Visiting Professor of Australian Studies in the Centre for American and Pacific Studies at the University of Tokyo.12
