Happy Women’s History Month! I had a blast talking to AMC supporters Athletic Brewing Co. about leading a 150-year-old organization—check out their podcast episode below. And I’m raising a hearty cheer for all the trailblazing women in the outdoor recreation and conservation spaces. We’ve always been out here, enjoying and protecting the outdoors, and I’m thrilled to see the groundswell of recognition for women’s stories. Follow Appalachian Mountain Club for vignettes throughout the month about women who have made history on the trail.

AMC held its 148th Annual Summit last Saturday, and I am still grinning ear-to-ear. Many organizations hold annual convenings, but ours is special: AMC staff and volunteers came together to make connections and share experiences. There were 29 informational sessions scheduled throughout the day, ranging from practical trainings to conservation education to the boundary-breaking DEI discussions that advance our work. I looked out over hundreds of attendees during our volunteer awards lunch, inspired by the way our commitment to outdoor experiences and conservation unites such a diverse group of people, and thought WHAT JOY! #AMCOutdoors
