Life is far more rich and ingenious than we are thinking.

The idea of how life works e.g. our genome being a blueprint for life, and our genes as instructions for building and letting function an organism is incomplete, misleading and wrong. It is like looking at a dictonairy (DNA, RNA) to understand how literature (life) works.

Instead, life is a hierarchical system at so many levels, each with their own rules and priniciples (genes, cells, tissues, and body modules).

The understanding of the human genome and it’s interactions with life and health had not led to a complete understanding of biology, it has opened even more possibilities to consider.

Life is complex and therefore soooo super beautiful! ❤️

What is a great team worth?

I enjoyed a lot attending the European Congress of Pathologist (ECP) in Dublin last week, together Janssen Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Precision Medicine team.

2,5 years ago I was appointed as the first EMEA Precision Medicine Lead. Now, we have a full team that is very passionate around our common mission to ensure that patients have access to personalised diagnosis and treatments.

As a team, we have grown a lot together. Precision Medicine is not only very innovative, but also teamwork. Building internal capabilities within our organisation and working closely with doctors, biologists, scientists and innovative companies to our mission happen.

Believing and being excited around a mission that really makes a difference to patients and the society, has been proven as really key to our internal team culture and to the joint efforts we can bring forward! I am still learning every day from this dreamteam!
