Dr. Nigam Shah is a distinguished faculty member at Stanford Medicine with a wealth of expertise in biomedical informatics, computational biology, and ontology.

His educational background includes a degree in Medicine (MBBS) from Maharaja Sayajirao University, a post-doctoral in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University School of Medicine, and a PhD in Biosciences with a focus on computational biology and ontology from Penn State University.

Dr. Shah has held various key positions in prestigious organizations, including Chief Data Scientist at Stanford Health Care, Professor of Medicine, and Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University School of Medicine, Associate Dean at Stanford University School of Medicine, and Associate CIO, Data Science at Stanford Health Care.

Previously, he has also served as Associate and Assistant Professor of Medicine specializing in Biomedical Informatics at Stanford University School of Medicine, further demonstrating his depth of experience and contributions to the field.

Additionally, Dr. Shah has research experience, having worked as a Research Scientist at Stanford University School of Medicine and as a Research Intern at IBM Research (Watson Research Center).
