Highlights
Life has a funny way of quietly introducing you to people who become really integral to your daily existence.
10 years ago, Joe and I were absolutely swamped as this small app we built to hang out with our friends (Down To Lunch), hit #1 in App Store social rankings. We posted on our Facebook asking for help and my freshman dorm staff, Willy Chu, blasted out to his Berkeley group and introduced us to @angelinarusse.
We jumped on a 10 minute call: “Hey I heard you needed help mailing stickers to people. How long is this role for?” “Yup! Probably just for a couple hours. We’ll figure out it out after that. Can you start tomorrow?” “Sure!”
10 years later, what started as 3 hour jam session with our first teammate became a decade of creating, friendship, and the most hilarious, incredible adventures you can dream of! From supporting our DTL users globally, to coding her own Matcha website in HTML, to creating magical team experiences, to helping build our @Alchemy dev community - all with a big smile on her face - it’s been an incredible ride.
For those of you who have spent time with Angelina, you know how much she deeply cares about every single human in her orbit and how she brings that awesome positive energy to every interaction. This superpower has also supported Joe and I through the “this is so crazy this is out of a movie” journey of the past decade. I know I speak for all of us when I say we’re so grateful to have you in our lives Angelina!!
At DTL & @Alchemy we’ve been super blessed to have an incredible team to build and adventure together with. It’s the biggest honor and privilege to spend every day with people you truly love.
Thank you Angelina for believing in us and making the last decade the most magical ever! ❤️🥳🙌
