Someone recently tried to sell me a 'gluten-free gin'.
But here's the thing: gluten doesn't make it through the distillation process. No matter the starting ingredient, distilled spirits do not contain gluten.
There's a couple of exceptions though.
Even distilled spirits can pick up gluten from cask-aging, or from any flavours/additives, which are added after distillation.
But in 99% cases, distilled spirits which are not cask aged are indeed gluten free.
