As we approach 5 years of Primus Partners' journey, our senior team engaged in a transformative strategy session. This year, we learned not from our successes but our misses over three intensive days. What made this session exceptional was the invaluable insights shared by two external speakers, Jyotirmoy Bose and Richard Rekhy, guiding us towards our next phase of growth. Jyoti was simply brilliant. Richard insights once again told us on why he has been a role model for a generation of consultants.
The involvement of VPs and the constructive feedback from our leadership team's spouses added a unique perspective to our discussions. This collaborative approach truly reflects the essence of our Primus Family. Implementing some of their suggestions immediately was both rewarding and impactful.
Personally speaking, when we started the Primus Journey five years back, I was hopeful to what we could do, but today very confident of what we can achieve in the next 5 years. We have a vision and plan for the same.

Not every day offers an opportunity to blend fan moments with serious discussions, but today was one of those rare occasions! As a firm that embraces diversity and a father of two lovely daughters, privileged to host a crucial dialogue on the portrayal of women in Media & Entertainment, Primus Partners recognizes the significant cultural impact of the film industry on societal norms.
Embracing diversity and advocating for change, our recent workshop brought together leading names from bollywood, media, and the public sector. We are so thankful to Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar, Anupama Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Samruddhi Porey, Aditi Rao Hydari, Atul Kasbekar, Ashima Chibber, Khushboo Yadav, Shobha Sant Amruta Rao and many others who came to discuss this issue together with senior officials from Government including Mr. Iqbal Singh Chahal, IAS, CM Office – Maharashtra, Dr. Preetam Yashvant, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Mr. Amstrong Pame, Director, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Uma Rawal and Amit Rana from Prasar Bharti. Special thanks to people who are often behind the scene – directors, editors, story writers and technical staff whose voice made the conversation so much more enriching. The statistics speak volumes. Only 17% of department heads in the Hindi film industry are women. In both films and OTT productions, there are six male characters for every female character, and only one in ten directors is female. Women are also three times more likely than men to appear in scenes involving nudity. In 2022, only 24% of the top 250 films in India featured women in roles such as producers, directors, editors, or cinematographers. Our upcoming Thought Leadership Report aims to shed light on the path forward.
