The 1% Rule of corporate!

Only 1% employees get promoted Only 1% candidates get selected Only 1% startups succeed Only 1% people own half the worlds wealth Only 1% millionaires in the world Only 1% get into the top schools

Question is what do these 1% do differently

They all focus 100% on DOTS

DOT - DO ONE THING SURELY

Here are 5 simple steps to DOTS

  1. Do One Thing for an Hour
  2. Do One Thing for a Day
  3. Do One Thing for a Week
  4. Do One Thing for a Month
  5. Do One Thing for a Year

Whatever we focus on Grows !

But how do we know what to focus on?

Linkedin has become Facebook, people dont know what to post". Do you agree?

If your linkedin feed is full of noise its not them its you :) Why?

Because your linkedin feed has been chosen by you!

The important question to ask is "How should I improve my linkedin feed?"

Here is what I learnt around this:

  1. It is important to follow the right people, but it is more important to unfollow people whose content is not meeting your objectives. So unfollow first

  2. What are the "Followed Hashtags" you have in your profile, update them to refine your feed

  3. What are the groups you have joined, leave or join new groups to get the right feed

  4. Add or remove connections regularly, you need to clean up your house frequently. It will refresh your feed & help get rid of unwanted feed. Connections which dont interact with you or others may not be required

  5. Last but not the least, contribute, engage with content & people. This will help you connect with the right people. It is also called networking

I do all of these regularly. It helps me clean my feed. Else it will be GIGO: Garbage in Garbage out :)

How do you manage your linkedin feed? Are you cleaning it up regularly?

P.S: I dont use FB anymore :)
