United Airlines Forgot that customers have options. Cancelled flights moved multiple times to and from our destination, changing the dates of our very expensive vacation, weren’t the worst part. It was the older lady, sitting in a wheelchair, crying because the late flight was cancelled in the middle of the night, again due to crew issues. Crying because the united gate reps kept announcing that they can’t help anyone with a hotel. Go take care of yourselves, we don’t care. Crying because she heard flight attendants who just came with the airplane telling each other that they need to get the hell out of the airport before they are asked to stay for this flight. Don’t worry United, the other passengers helped her. By the way, telling your customers that it will take weeks to handle the issues, and send them to obscure webpages to ask for refunds or compensation is yet again not the way to care for your customers. We all paid good money to travel with you, and you of course don’t care.
You had to pay for a hotel (which you had to find on your own)? Submit it somewhere and who knows you might get a refund but no one can say when. We neeed to pay for United’s inability to manage its crew. We completely changed the dates of your planned vacation? Same thing. We need to subsidize United.
Next time that we have to choose an airline, we won’t consider your customer care or reputation as reasons to pay more for a flight. Congratulations for becoming a commodity that can and should be compared over pricing.
One last thing, don’t think that this is just United mishap over Covid. Flights get canceled all the time. United just forgot how to care for its customers when it happens.
