My head is still buzzing after two consequent days of knowledge sharing and networking with like-minded passionate ABM practitioners (or should I say warriors?) who are pioneering and nurturing the client-centric ethos to transform their organisations.

"Rethink ABM Conference" by Momentum ITSMA "The ABM Club Launch" by EI Global B2B Marketing Intelligence

For me, the key takeaway from the above events: we need to look at ABM beyond good old operational challenges, i.e. account selection, sales & marketing alignment, data quality & integration and measuring impact.

We need to address the internal #human factor! Embracing ABM is a massive transformational change that requires careful navigating and bringing ABM teams and a broader organisation community on this journey. As well said by Jamil Qureshi, High Performance Coach: “See the teams as a community with a purpose but not as an organisation with objectives”.

⭐ Here are a few learnings and useful reminders:

#1 - 📖 Build and tell the story while bringing teams on the ABM transformational journey.

#2 - 📊 Use data as an impactful tool to motivate people around key points, driving them to the longer-term ambition.

#3 - 🏆 Advocates are key. Find open minded, keen to innovate colleagues with a bright spark, help them solve a persistent challenge, build on small wins and see them becoming your devoted champions.

#4 - 🚫 Be transparent, be able to say “no” but explain why and continue nurturing the buy-in.

#5 - 📢 Be prepared to go through the classic stages of the transformational change; listen, listen, listen and communicate, communicate, communicate.

Really enjoyed the insightful and witty debates on things that really matter by business professionals who live and breathe ABM. The conversations were honest, sometimes brutally honest, yet mixed with laughter making them even more memorable.

❤️ Loved

There’s something undeniably therapeutic about classical music. It may not have the power to mend our physical wounds, but it certainly has a way of soothing our souls.

I could not resist watching the full video by Tateo Nakajima, an Arup Fellow, a musician, a conductor and a cultural planner. It is so inspiring to learn about his innovative approach to designing cultural spaces that create shared emotional experience of music for people bringing us together through communal identity.

This video has taken me back to The Royal Albert Hall and the fireworks of emotions I have experienced during my last two visits, listening to mesmerising music of the legendary Sir Karl Jenkins and the timeless classics of Tchaikovsky’s - The Nutcracker. #Acoustics #ArtsandCulture #WeAreArup
