Omar Elshafee

Omar Elshafee is a dedicated Lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a profound educational background. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2011 and 2016, respectively. His main research areas include centrifuge modeling, soil-structure interaction, soil dynamics, and numerical modelling. Omar is actively involved in conducting centrifuge experiments to enhance engineering methods. He also serves as a reviewer for reputable journals such as Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Journal.

With a strong belief in the importance of education, Omar considers teaching akin to tailoring a suit for each student. He imparts knowledge in core subjects like Intro to Engineering Analysis, Strength of Materials, and Intro to Engineering Design. Having served as a course coordinator for Strength of Materials, he brings valuable experience to the classroom. His teaching tenure expands to Egypt, where he conducted classes and mentored geotechnical major students.
