Paisley Smith is a distinguished creative leader renowned for her work as a virtual reality director, writer, and producer, contributing significant VR films with tangible, real-world impacts.

Noteworthy projects by Paisley Smith include 'Unceded Territories' and 'Homestay.' 'Homestay,' produced by the National Film Board of Canada Interactive, has garnered accolades such as the B.C. Spotlight Audience Award at the VIFF Immersed Exhibition 2018 and 'Best XR for Change' at Games For Change 2019.

Paisley's production, 'Unceded Territories,' developed in partnership with esteemed activist and artist Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun, made its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2019, highlighting the intersection of climate change and colonization.

Her creative ventures have received support from prominent institutions like the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, The Sundance Institute, and Creative B.C Interactive Fund. Acknowledged as one of the '10 Filmmakers to Watch' by Independent Magazine, she has also been a nominee for the ADC Young Gun Award due to her immersive media contributions.

This skilled visionary is keen on democratizing emerging technologies for diverse audiences. She orchestrated and managed a VR exhibition, Robot Remix XR, at Sp[a]ce Gallery in Los Angeles, opening up elite VR experiences to the public.

Leveraging her expertise in world building, Paisley is at the forefront of guiding creative entrepreneurs, artists, and institutions such as Planned Parenthood and the Sundance Institute in designing for digital connectivity and meaningful engagement, often sharing her insights through speaking engagements and workshops.

Currently, Paisley Smith serves as the producer for the Unity for Humanity Program at Unity Technologies, extending support to social impact ventures founded on Unity.

Paisley's educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Film and Media Studies combined with Art History from Queen's University.
