Paolo Ermanni

Professor, Director of the Composite Materials and Adaptive Structures Lab

Paolo Ermanni is a prominent figure in the field of material science and engineering applications, with a focus on structural design and fabrication of multi-functional lightweight structural systems.

His research interests include composite structures, shape adaptation in load-carrying systems, advanced processing routes for high-performance thermoplastic composites, and additive manufacturing of adaptive and composite systems.

He has held various key positions at ETH Zurich, such as Vice-Rector for Continuing Education, Professor of Composite Materials and Adaptive Structures, and Associate Professor of Structure Technologies.

Additionally, Paolo Ermanni has served on the Board of Directors at inspire AG and Acutronic, worked as a Consultant (Manager) at A.T. Kearney, and held roles at Airbus as a Senior Engineer and Project Manager.

His career also includes research positions at ETH Zurich where he was a Research Assistant/PhD Student and Researcher.
