She has a diverse professional background having served in various roles such as a Drawing Instructor at the Smithsonian American Art Museum/Luce Foundation Center, Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, University Supervisor at George Mason University, Chair of the Department of Art at T.C. Williams High School, and in other educational and artistic capacities.
