What do CEOs do during the holidays?

When I tell people that I am the CEO of Patch App, a coaching app that works with lawyers from some of the most prestigious firms in the world, they sometimes imagine my private life to be very different to what it is.

I've been told that it must be wonderful to own your own business. The freedom to do what I like, when I like.

Owning a company is relentless and in my case I needed to juggle that with renovating a little house and taking care of a small child.

Don't be fooled by titles. What happens behind the scenes is often not as glamorous as you might think.

A message to all the entrepreneurs out there who are working today on a Sunday.

Founders live with the fact that 90% of startups fail. It is a brutal, emotional and often lonely journey that even the people closest to us, will never understand.

As I continue on my journey with Patch App, I felt inspired today by Jasmin Paris. She has just completed the Barkley Marathons. 160km in 60 hours. She did it a few minutes before the deadline.

A race famous for its gruelling, near-impossible nature. It is thought by many to be the hardest foot race in the world.

An inspiration to all those facing uphill struggles. Remember that it is incredible what we can do with resilience and good people cheering us on.
