Patty Wipfler

Founder, Board Member, Hand in Hand Parenting

Patty Wipfler has dedicated her life to working with children and parents through various roles such as an elementary school teacher, community activist, preschool director, and infant-toddler center director.

Since 1975, she has been utilizing listening as a powerful tool for fostering connections among parents and between parents and their children.

In 1989, Patty founded Hand in Hand Parenting to introduce a transformative parenting approach called Parenting by Connection to a global audience.

With over 45 years of experience, she has conducted numerous workshops, led parent support groups, organized parent-child play events, and provided training sessions to empower parents and educators.

Patty has trained over 180 Instructors of Parenting by Connection across 17 countries and in 14 languages, helping thousands of families worldwide to navigate behavioral challenges and strengthen family bonds through play, setting boundaries, and active listening.

She is the author of fourteen booklets and the co-author of 'Listen: Five Simple Tools to Meet Your Everyday Parenting Challenges' with Tosha Schore, M.A., available in multiple languages.

Patty's work at Hand in Hand Parenting focuses on supporting parents during challenging times, offering tools and resources to alleviate children's difficulties and parental stress, emphasizing a parent-led and parent-inspired approach.
