Paul Compton is currently the Senior Associate Director of Admission at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a position he has held since July 2023.1 He previously worked at Northwestern University's Office of Undergraduate Admission, where he served as the Director of Access Partnerships and FGLI Support Initiatives.4

In his career, Compton has focused on improving college access for underrepresented students. At Northwestern, he worked primarily with Latinx and Chicago students, and oversaw initiatives for first-generation, lower-income, and rural students.3 He joined Northwestern's admissions office in 2015 after working as a social worker and adjunct faculty member.3

The world of undergraduate admissions has seen big changes in recent years, with more change on the horizon. Despite the challenges ahead, the heart of why I'm drawn to this work is grounded in promoting access and opportunities for students from all backgrounds.
I'm excited to share that we're hiring a new role to help with rural and small-town outreach that will also aid in our connection to community-based organizations and broader outreach goals.
