Highlights
A friend of mine is looking for Board Members for a well-established, 150+ year old non-profit charity based in Harlem, New York. The organization has supported African American children since the 1800’s and now assists families with emergency food pantries, after school programs, and family preservation support. Their mission is to keep vulnerable children safe in their families with supervision, education, and connection to supportive services.
Previous members of the Board included Eleanor Roosevelt. Advocates for the organization included Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas, and Fiorella LaGuardia. The organization has also been financially supported by families such as the Vanderbilt and Astor families.
This is a non-paying position and they are looking for individuals from a diverse background to assist with Board Leadership, fundraising, and governance (the person will need to be located in the New York City Tri-State area).
I am performing my services on a Pro Bono basis and happy to provide individuals with more information (I personally will not be involved in the selection of candidates, but wanted to reach out to my network of LinkedIn connections). Please feel free to share this posting, can be reached on [email protected] and appreciate your help!
Here is an article I was published in the Chicago Tribune last week, related to conducting yourself in an interview over lunch or dinner.
